Price: £155.00 | |
This iconic Parker Senior Duofold fountain pen was made in their Canadian plant around 1929 and is a classic Jet Black with gold plated trim fountain pen of the period. It is a good size and quite a chubby vintage pen measuring 13.3 cm with cap on and 16.7cm with cap on barrel end. The cap sports the original gold plated Parker ball ended clip with the text “Pat.Sep. 5 16 Parker” and two cap bands. The barrel imprint is pretty strong and states “Geo S. Parker Duofold Fountain Pen, Canada” with the “Lucky Curve” banner. The “Lucky Curve” relates to the type of feed which was used by Parker until August 1928. From that date the Lucky Curve feed was replaced by a conventional feed but the barrel imprints continued to be used until stocks were exhausted* - hence this pen is likely to be around 1929 as it has a notched feed – sometimes called a Christmas tree feed. It has an excellent large Parker Duofold Pen Canada B nib with a fine to medium point. Condition is good with very minor plating wear but some age wear towards the end of the barrel. Like all button fillers it fills by unscrewing the blind cap at the bottom of the barrel and pressing in the metal button – then releasing – leaving the nib in the ink for 5-10 seconds to allow ink to enter the interior sac. This classic Parker vintage pen is a pleasing writer and an excellent purchase either for everyday use or to add to a vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced by Vintage Fountain Pens Inc. unless stated otherwise and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. A gift box is available free of charge on request.

This attractive vintage fountain pen was manufactured by Conway Stewart in England in 1937. It is called “The Universal Pen - No.466” and is in a finish termed burgundy pearl and black. The barrel imprint states “The Universal Pen – Conway Stewart London – No. 466” around the bottom of the barrel it states “Made in England” and it carries the Conway branded lever. Condition overall is good with very minor age wear to the body and cap but a fair amount of age wear to the rolled gold trim as can be seen in the photograph – however this is reflected in the price. Price: £120.00
This delightful vintage pen and pencil set was made by Waterman’s around 1925 in a “Ripple” finish which was particularly popular at the time - and remains so today. The fountain pen has a ring top. Advertisements of the time stated “These types are appropriate for women and conveniently carried on silk guards”, however they were also used by men to hang, for example, from their watch chain. A slim ribbon, chain or handbag clip will suffice today. The pen has one broad gold fill cap band (some plating wear)and a warranted 14k No.3 nib which is more of a fine than a medium point. The model number (52v) is stated on the barrel end. The pencil which, as with the pen, is in working order and recently serviced, has “Waterman’s” “Pat. Applied for” around the top with a slim gold fill band. It takes a 1.2mm diameter lead (Yard O’Led for example will suffice). There is some variation between the depth of colour of the pen and pencil – obviously one has been used more than the other over the years. The length of the pen is 11cm/pencil 10cm not including ring top. Overall they are in good condition and a fine set reminiscent of the 1920’s. All fountain pens are professionally serviced by Vintage Fountain Pens Inc. and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Medium Italic nib, Cartridge fill system. |
Sold |
This not so very vintage fountain pen was made by Parker around 1990. In the words of the Parker brochure of the time “It captures the classic elegance and style that made the original Duofold a design landmark of the 1920’s.” This, the larger Centennial size measures 13.7cm long with cap on and 17.5cm long with cap on barrel end. The attractive finish Parker termed “Marbled Blue”. The trim is 23 karat gold plated and the cap has the longer, more durable clip and raised cap band. The 18ct Parker “arrow” nib has a medium italic point and is a pleasure to use. It has a converter filling system so you can use either a Parker ink cartridge or bottle ink. Currently it is set up for bottle ink however a Parker ink cartridge can easily be inserted. Condition is very good with only minor age wear. It is an attractive, large, near vintage fountain pen which will provide many years of writing service and is a fine tribute to the original Duofolds of the 1920’s and 1930’s. It has been bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection will be carried out before despatch. A gift box is available free of charge on request.

Mabie Todd & Co. Ltd. Leverless Gold Fill Overlay | Stock number: 5238 |

Fine to medium nib, Leverless fill system. |
£248.00 |
|
Price: £248.00 | |
This vintage fountain pen was made in England by Mabie, Todd & Co. Limited under the “Swan” brand name around 1933. It is made of hard rubber with alternating panels of plain and chased gold fill overlay. It is an example of their “leverless” model, the pen fills by twisting the ribbed knob at the end of the barrel – twisting one way expels the air from the sac and twisting the other way allows the ink to enter the sac. It proved quite a popular filling system at the time. There is very minor age wear to the cap with slightly more to the barrel where the chasing has smoothed due to handling over the years. Normally Swan leverless overlays suffer from quite a lot of gold fill wear on the barrel knob and also at the neck of the section, in this particular instance this is not the case and condition is therefore good. The fine to medium pointed nib states “Swan No.2 14ct Mabie Todd & Co. Ltd” there is also the “Swan” logo on the back of the feed. The turning knob at the bottom of the barrel states “”Swan” Pen Mabie Todd & Co. Ltd Made in England” The cap ball ended clip carries the “Swan” logo. It is a slim elegant pen measuring 13.6cm with cap on and 16.7cm with cap on barrel end. The added advantage of this particular example is that it comes with its original tan leather covered box, in good external order, with gold tooling around the edge and a strong clasp. You will see from the photograph that the interior does have some ink stain and age wear on the lid but the fact that it carries the “Swan” branding is some consolation. A good example of its type suitable to add to a vintage fountain pen collection and also one which will provide many more years of service as an everyday writer. All fountain pens are professionally serviced by Vintage Fountain Pens Inc. unless otherwise stated and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Parker No.61 | Stock number: 1620 |

Fine to Medium nib, Squeezebox fill system. |
£85.00 |
|
Price: £85.00 | |
The Parker “61” was launched in 1956 with Parker proudly announcing its revolutionary capillary filling method. Unfortunately this filling method was not totally satisfactory in the longer term as it depended upon the owner to use it on a regular basis to prevent ink drying in the capillary filler. Parker, once it had launched its first cartridge fill pen in the 1960’s, gradually converted “61”’s to the aerometric and cartridge fill system. This particular Parker “61” is a aerometric model which means that you can fill from an ink bottle but also take off the aerometic filler and use with a Parker ink cartridge. With its metal clip crown it is a late period “61” from early 1970. The “61”, with its arrow shape inset into the pen shell, pointing the way to the Parker fine to medium point nib, is quite distinctive and rather elegant. It has a 1/10 12ct rolled gold overlay to the cap and barrel. It measures 13.6cm (5.8 inches) with cap on and 14.5cm (5.8 inches) with cap on barrel end – you can tell from these measurements that the cap is long on the body. Condition is good with only minor age wear. The personalising lozenge on the barrel is clear. What appears to be a blemish on the barrel is a photographic light reflection. This is a distinctive and elegant vintage fountain pen which will do well as an everyday writer. All fountain pens are professionally serviced by Vintage Fountain Pens Inc. unless stated otherwise and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Price: £95.00
This quite rare vintage fountain pen was made by The Valentine Pen Company in Newhaven in the late 1930’s. At the time Parker were looking for a UK manufacturing base and they acquired an interest in Valentine in December 1941. From this date it began to manufacture the popular Parker pens of the period alongside Valentine pens, with both lever and button filling pens being produced. It is believed that Parker phased out Valentine production around 1947. This particular Valentine, with its candy stripe finish, is believed to be a pre-Parker era button filler. It has the model number 03 engraved on the bottom of the barrel. The barrel imprint reads “The Valentine Pen Co. Ltd. Made in England”. The Valentine fine to medium point nib reads “Valentine 14ct First Quality”. It measures 128cm with cap on and 15.9cm with cap on barrel end. It has the original Valentine ball ended clip and a single cap band. Condition is good with only minor age wear, primarily to the cap ring as can be seen in the photograph. So a fairly long slim vintage pen with an interesting pedigree. Suitable for every day use or to add to a vintage fountain pen collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced by Vintage Fountain Pens Inc. unless otherwise stated and are bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. A gift box is available free of charge on request. Filling instructions will be sent with your order.

Medium nib, Aerometric fill system. |

Price: £125.00 | |
This vintage pen was made in England by Parker in the mid 50’s. Its aerodynamic design has made it a classic and the plaudits it has received over the years both in terms of design and reliability are well deserved. Its contribution to design is evidenced by its display in the Design Museum in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York and has been marketed as “51…the world’s most wanted pen”. This particular “51” has a body colour which Parker termed “Forest Green” - a very dark green and one which is quite rare to find today. Unusually the Parker rolled gold cap has a solid green “jewel” rather than the grey usually found - whilst this is possibly a replacement, the combination makes for a stylish vintage pen. The Parker nib has a smooth medium point. Condition is good with only minor age wear but more noticeable on the rim of the gold fill cap (as you will see from the photograph). The aerometric filling system is often termed "squeezebox" and is a very simple method of filling the pen with ink by unscrewing the barrel to expose a metal shell covering the ink sac - just press the metal bar and release up to five times and this vintage pen is ready to use. It measures 14cm with cap on and 15cm with cap on barrel end. “51”’s are always a good workhorse - suitable for everyday use and, particularly in this case, for adding to a “51” collection. All fountain pens are professionally serviced by Vintage Fountain Pens Inc. unless stated otherwise and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch. Medium nib, Button fill system. |
Sold |
This button filling vintage fountain pen was made in England c1935 by the Mentmore Manufacturing Co. Ltd.. The model is called the “Autoflow” and at the time was very popular as a middle market pen. They were available in a range of marble colours, this particular example is in blue pearl and black. The cap has the original Mentmore rolled gold ball ended clip with the Mentmore logo. The barrel imprint is feint but reads “Mentmore Autoflow – Made in England – Pat. App. For”. I have stated condition as fair to good due to the old but smooth nibble marks on the bottom of the barrel and some brassing to the trim – this age wear is reflected in the price. The nib is a Warranted 14ct with a medium point. A good - slightly chunky - vintage pen in fair to good condition it measures 12.6cm/5inches with cap on and 15.1cm/5.10 inches with cap on barrel end and is suitable for everyday use. All fountain pens are professionally serviced by Vintage Fountain Pens Inc. unless stated otherwise and bench tested prior to offering for sale. A further inspection is carried out before despatch.
